As best I can tell, my mother's family started having an annual reunion about the time I was born. That would make Thaddie Ray, Sandra and me poster-children of the event as we were runny-nosed kids when we had our first photograph taken together (above). Though close to the same age, Thad and Sandra are my first cousins once removed, placing me on the level of their parents on the family tree. Wait a minute, let me check that again. That just doesn't seem right!

Anyway, not everyone could make it this year, but for those who could, it was a great weekend of renewing old memories and making new ones. One more thing; the only thing seemingly consistent about these two pictures seems to be my dazed look, which hasn't changed in sixty years. Maybe the straw hat would have helped. I know it could have helped Thad. As for Sandra, her beauty is timeless. Note: Yes Thad, I added you with Photoshop and yes, I made you a little shorter than me. Hey, it's called artist' prerogative. Count your blessings - I didn't show our bellies.

Pray it
Thank You, Lord, for family and the good memories we children share. I know everyone is not so privileged, but as parents, we have the opportunity to create good memories for our family.
