It's never too late to believe God's word. 3251

Live it
It's said we'll never truly know the worth of water until the well runs dry. In the same way, some people will never treasure the Bible until it's burned or reading it is forbidden. We're all offended when Jesus' Name can't be mentioned in a public prayer or when another cross or representation of the Ten Commandments is removed from government property. But ask most people how much they're reading the Bible and praying right now, they'll admit they're not doing it much, if at all. Sadly, we all take prayer and God's word for granted at times. It's only when we're faced with something dreadful that most of us turn to God and ask for help.
Knowledge of why we do or don't do something won't change us. And doing something we don't enjoy doing won't change our desire. The truth is, we will do today what we have to do, and when we're done with that, we'll do what we want to do, not necessarily what we ought to do. So what creates a holy thirst for reading the Word and praying? It's called love, what has in most of us grown cold and dark. If you love someone, don't you want to be with them? So, here's the simple reason people don't pray: they don't want to! They fail to see prayer as a means of fellowship more than help in time of crisis.
Pray it
You've blessed me in so many ways, I can't see anything that's unaffected. When I consider You would love me like that, how can I turn away and take it for granted?
