Why does the wicked person despise God? Why does he say to himself, “God doesn’t care”?
Ps 10:13

God may be the last person you'll ever blame for your situation. 3253

Live it
Maybe you've had one. My epiphany was fifty years ago at the baseball park at South Parkway and what is now called Elvis Presley Blvd. I'm speaking of one defining moment in life when something significant happens that you never forget. I'm on the mound for Southern Ave Baptist and Tommy Long is pitching for Bellevue Baptist. We both have no-hitters in progress, but Tommy is finished and I'm not.

I walk a man and then strike out two. My final pitch is a slider that the batter hits to our second baseman who can't stop the ball from rolling through his legs into the outfield. The runner advances to second base, but more importantly, the man I walked scored and the game was over. Look, it's just a game and I'm a forgiving person, you know? Just because it's been fifty years and I credit the loss to Reggie Barnes, our curly-headed low-down second baseman, that doesn't mean I blame him, does it?

Pray it
I laugh about some disappointments, as I do that game so long ago. In a game, there's a loser for every winner. But for the sake of all men, You went to the cross and lost so we could win. Thank You for loving us that much!
