One-Minute Devotionals reveal in a single sentence, underlying truth about specific Scripture.

On that day some Sadducees, who say that people will never come back to life, came to Jesus. They asked him, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies childless, his brother should marry his widow and have children for his brother.’

Live it
We can all admire someone like Thomas Edison, who endured disappointment on his way to success. I love what he said about his rigorous quest to invent and patent the light bulb, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." But in spite of his clever mind and well-established success, he said some things that expose his ignorance. How about, "What man's mind can create, man's character can control?" Hey, I'm a nobody who hangs with nobodies and don't know nuthin', but even I know that contradicts what God thinks. In Proverbs 14:12 we read, "There's a way that seems right to a man but in the end it leads to death."

Knowing my nature as I do, I tend to believe what God said over anyone with a different opinion. And if I could talk with them, I'm sure far more than 10,000 well-meaning people in hell today, having trusted their nature, would agree with me.
We have the unique opportunity to spend our time today doing and talking
about
things that matter or things that don't. Then, at the end of the day we can look

back and realize fulfillment or regret having wasting time. Here's a good idea. Why not spend time today in prayer with the King of Kings, a.k.a., the Ancient of Days, and stop listening to what dead-people-talking think?

Pray it
I can't imagine any privilege so great as spending time in Your presence, Holy Father. Thank you for coming into my life and doing what You do.
