One-Minute Devotionals reveal in a single sentence, underlying truth about specific Scripture.

Then you will groan when your end comes, when your body and flesh are consumed. You will say, “Oh, how I hated discipline! How my heart despised correction!

Live it
My wife and I home schooled our youngest daughter for several years. Like most parents who do it, we wanted more for our child than what could be expected from a classroom full of same-aged kids and one teacher. It was a good time for us as we worked together, virtually full-time, teaching Abby. To me, the best thing about home schooling was the flexibility you had for instruction and the fact text books weren't always required and if they were, they couldn't be left at school.

My wife and I still seldom resist spontaneous teaching moments. Even last night in conversation around the dinner table with some grand kids, we used Jonah (in the
Bible) as an illustration of a bad attitude. They didn't resist too much after we had

their attention. However, years ago little Abby made a point for school children of all ages. We were eating out that night as well, and waiting for our food when my wife used the moment to make a teaching point. Looking frustrated, Abby shook her head and complained, “Mom, don’t regular kids get time off?” We laughed and later confirmed without saying anything, "Yes they do, but as long as we live, you won't."

Pray it
Thank you I still have a healthy curiosity and desire to learn, especially about You and what You want to teach me.
