We’ll never know God unless we know Jesus, and it works the other ways too. 3280

Live it.
Spiritual blindness is a deadly condition, but you can't see it without using spiritual eye glasses. Sitting at the dinner table the other night, someone asked me, "What's that in your eyes?" I leaned over to my wife and asked her what it was. She didn't know but she said it was gross, too gross for her to touch. So, I tried rubbing my eyes and pulling one eyelid over the other, to no avail. I then went to the bathroom vanity mirror and closely examined my eyes. Since I wasn't wearing my reading glasses, I couldn't see any detail. But then I put them on and saw some the gook that went away with an eyewash.
Sorry for that gross example, but that's exactly what it's like for a lost person to assess their spiritual condition on their own. A person doesn't know anything's wrong until they see themselves as God sees them, in the light of His Word. Then, they have the choice to admit their condition, apply the living Water to their wounds and find healing, or continue on in their sinful condition. I saddens me to think how many people will die today, having never used the holy reading glasses still in their pocket. I pray you're not so stubborn, you're willing to pay an eternal price for it.
Pray it
Thank you, Father, I was willing to see myself through Your eyes long enough to be dissatisfied with myself. And thank You that I was able to see You through the Word and what I could be by Your grace.
