One-Minute Devotionals reveal in a single sentence, underlying truth about specific Scripture.

Jesus answered him, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important commandment.

Live it..
Every time I hear someone say they're going to give more than 100 percent, I'd want to ask them to show me their pie chart. Have you wondered why someone would say something so silly? Could it be they've done less than their best in the past and feel obliged to make up for it by doing the impossible, as in more than what's expected? Or maybe they flunked first grade math, or better yet, they're speaking of a speedometer and should have said, "I'm going to exceed the speed limit."

A few years ago Tiger Woods, the golfer, used the phrase "Bring your 'A' game." Everyone understood he was speaking of doing his very best and looking back, one can only wonder if his "B" game wasn't good enough. One thing is certain, when Jesus used the term "all" when referring to our heart, soul and mind, He's was speaking of requiring 100 percent of each. Could it be that our thinking has become as skewed as one of those loose-tongued athletes? How about you? Do you plan on giving God that non-existent "extra" 10% instead of adjusting your life to align with His Word? If so, I'd love to see your pie chart!

Pray it
It's only when I'm full of You that I know how to handle anything else. When I'm fully engaged with You, You provide the extra room for other things I need and want. I like Your math much more than mine.
