Live it..
I love this time of year, now that I'm no longer going to school to be snagged, bagged and tagged before being twisted, tormented and tested. Can you smell that? It's the scent of pencil shavings and books being opened for the first time. Do you hear that... bells ringing, laughter and constant loud noise echoing in the hallway just before excruciating silence is demanded in the classroom? Can you tell how much I loved school? I was one of those guys who didn't graduate Summa Cum Laude, but "Thank you Laude" instead.
It used to be that we left school with basic skills in "reading, ritin and rithmetic," or we didn't graduate. But, today it seems children are being taught something else entirely. In fact, if I had to name one thing that makes this generation different from mine, it would be the overwhelming lack respect for authority of this one. This attitude, I believe, started in the home but was driven home in the laboratory of secular education. Through the promotion of anything but the Judeo-Christian world view that created this nation, education has today become new age orientation where situational ethics is the accepted religion. The only problem is that is was faith in God that gave us freedom to teach this junk, and our rebellious attitude will be what takes it away. Listen, there are a few good teachers out there, and thank God for them. But, I just wish they were honest and identified themselves as a giver or taker of liberty. Both deserve respect, but only one should get our attention.
Pray it
Thank God for men and women who teach the Truth without apology and usually pay the price for doing so.
