One-Minute Devotionals reveal in a single sentence, underlying truth about specific Scripture.

Judah, your brothers will praise you. Your hand will be on the neck of your enemies. Your father’s sons will bow down to you.

We honor God when we act responsibly with what we've been given. 3305

Live it..
How much stuff have you purchased and keep in your garage that you've only used once or maybe never? When you see it, it probably reminds you of either wasted money, unfulfilled intention or "someday" plans. I could fill a file folder full of receipts for things falling into each of those categories. Recently I took several hundred pounds of technical reference books to recycling. To say I spent thousands of dollars on those books is not as remarkable as the fact I never read a single page in many of those books. That's because they were bought to provide information I thought I might need, but the need never came. Now, years later, the information is stale and no longer relevant, so the books are worth nothing except for recycling the paper on which the information was printed.

A few years ago I purchased a dual cassette tape deck with the intention of converting tape to digital format. However, I never used it, but moved it from place to place over the years knowing it would be there when I was ready. When I finally had the need, I took it out of the box and plugged it in, but it didn't work. Can you return something new that doesn't work after five years? When we were born, God gave us value and as we grew, we've learned He also gave us ability and desire. But I have to ask now looking back, what have we done with what He's given us that has any value today, much less tomorrow? The good news is that unlike that tape deck, we don't have to discard what we haven't used, but simply start using what's left of it. The most amazing fact is that God can still use us after we've ignored Him for so long.

Pray it
Thank you that any part of what You've given me is worth more than the whole of anything else.
