One-Minute Devotionals reveal in a single sentence, underlying truth about specific Scripture.

"If David calls him Lord, how can he be his son?" No one could answer him, and from that time on no one dared to ask him another question.

False religion is interpreting God's intention instead of obeying His instruction. 3306

We had a casserole for dinner the other night and as everyone took their seats around the table, the first question asked was, (you guessed it) "What's in it?" As my wife goes down the list, she invariably adds, "Just the things you like." I always joke with her, asking what she's trying to hide. If I see anything in her response that looks suspicious, I immediately start looking around the kitchen for evidence of what she's not saying. Not to stretch a point here, but there are a lot of casserole Christians walking around, you know?

Without question, many people who consider themselves a Christian would be called a pagan in the first century. That's because we've given culture equal status to the Bible, God's Holy Word. In some ways we're no different than the Pharisees and Sadducees who riddled Jesus with questions trying to find a loophole in His testimony. Today, most church-goers include some of what He said with what they personally believe, adding a pinch of what's acceptable to the world and then call it being religious. Too bad we can't walk around their kitchen to see what's under their layer of holy cheese and righteous seasoning.

Pray it
You have my permission to look deep in me to find anything that offends you. If it's down there and I'm acting religious, you also have my permission to dig it out.
