Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples,“The scribes and
the Pharisees teach with Moses’ authority. So be careful to do everything
they tell you. But don’t follow their example, because they don’t
practice what they preach." |

Peter said many things, but what I remember most was, "What you do is what you believe, everything else is just religious talk." He was right on, because the one thing we Christians have in common is a lot of talk, and little demonstration. I never realized how much we were alike until I read some of the things family and friends said about him. His 2959 prayer journal influenced me years ago and probably played a part in shaping who I am today. I also understand him to have said if he had regrets, it was spending so much time preaching and so little time discipling people who would make a difference. Will we ever learn what God is trying to teach us about revival? It doesn't come from preaching, patterns or promises, but by holy relationships, first with the Lord, then your wife, if you're married, and then someone whom you're discipling.
