Live it..
I won't credit anyone who provides fodder for television's World's Funniest Videos. They do crazy things for the sake of proving they're foolish. I won't credit them because I have my own personal library of memories of being stupid. As father of three young girls, I enjoyed spending time with them and was always well-intentioned, although not always that smart. I'm going to relate this story although its memory still pains me.

We lived in a cove at the base of a downward sloping street named Marianna. It was a great place to sled in the snow, but in the summer, what's a dad going to do with his children for fun? As a boy, he coasted his bike or his wagon down the hill. But it wasn't a good idea to tie a rope around the handle of a little wagon and pull his three kids behind him as he ran down the hill. Most intelligent people would recognize the wagon might go faster than the person pulling it. A sane father wouldn't have placed his baby on the wagon at all, but especially not in front of her two older sisters. That's because the out of control wagon could turn over on the asphalt and cause the bigger children to fall on top of her. Sadly, it was at the emergency room that we learned Jamie's middle finger on her right hand would always be shorter than normal. I frequently ask her to show it to me just to remind me of my stupidity and God's grace. The old saying, "You only hurt the ones you love," is sadly all too true.

Pray it
Thank You for saving my life, but more importantly, for preserving the life of the family You placed under my care.
