One-Minute Devotionals reveal in a single sentence, underlying truth about specific Scripture.

They love to be greeted in the marketplaces and to have people call them Rabbi.
Mt 23:7

Most everyone knows Jesus by name, but not everyone knows Him. 3322

Live it..
My best friend lived across the street from me when I was growing up. I still phone him once in a while, but it seems time puts space between relationships if your interests aren't mutual. I think he's still living our childhood in his professional career, however. We collected baseball cards as kids and he and his family sells sport equipment and uniforms. In fact, he has large reproductions of his favorite vintage baseball players hanging in his shop window. When I visit him, I feel like I'm back home on Marianna Street.

After the death of his father, there's only one person alive who calls him Butch and that would be me, because everyone else, including his family, calls him by his legal name, Paul. But there's another name that no one knows but us. We used these names when we played fantasy basketball together in his back yard. He was Bob Roberts and I was his twin, Jim, the world's two greatest players of all time. The first time I telephoned Butch at work, I asked for Bob Roberts and was told (by his wife) there was no one there by that name, So, I asked for Butch and she gave the same answer. Then I used Paul and when I was asked who was calling, I told her I was Jim Roberts. My friend was laughing out loud when he answered the phone and we had a great time revisiting the past. Secret names are fun, no doubt. Psalm 9:10 says "Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you." Do know God's "secret" name(s) and when you pray, do you use them?

Pray it
You, Jehovah-tsidkenu, are not only my Righteousness, but my reason for living, my hope and my expectation.
