One-Minute Devotionals reveal in a single sentence, underlying truth about specific Scripture.

My son, if you guarantee a loan for your neighbor or pledge yourself for a stranger with a handshake, you are trapped by the words of your own mouth, caught by your own promise.

Live it..
It's a scientific fact that for every action in nature, there's an equal and opposite reaction. But looking around my garage and mini-storage, I wonder when the reaction is coming for plans I made in the past. I don't know how many unfinished projects and superfluous equipment you have, but I think I must be the master, having perfected the art of failing to finish what I started. There is one thing even worse however, and that's presuming for someone else. I gladly accept my failures, but when people depend on me and whatever we do together fails, I wonder if they're as forgiving of me as I am of myself. It seems only fair that I should pay the price for both of us.

Now that I've confessed my failures, I'd like to remind you there are

actions that will result in exacting and predictable reactions. I'm speaking of God's promises. Failures in life are to be expected and God will forgive us from everyone except one. That's when we reject His free pardon for our sinful nature. That project was started for you when you were born, but God is the only One who can finish it for you. Can you claim with our Lord from the cross, "It is Finished?"

Thank You the final chapter hasn't been written yet, even though I know how it will end.
