Consider what God has done! Who can straighten what God has bent?

Deformity is only bad when we think it's bad . 3325

Live it..
Recently a friend from high school touched base with me via Facebook. I won't mention his name, for I wouldn't want to embarass him. He told me how we had a brief encounter after a junior high school basketball practice and it had a positive influence on him. But when he reminded me he'd lost his leg to cancer and considered himself not in the in-crowd, I thought of Chuck, who grew up with a deformed leg due to childhood polio. These two men should serve to remind us how to deal with adversity, disappointment and/or disadvantage. I mentioned to my high school friend that I viewed him as an overcomer and he rejected the idea saying that any glory should go to God, not to him. You know, Chuck would say the same thing.

Another thing these men shared is their acceptance of their situation. Both could have considered themselves helpless and to be pitied, but each used his disadvantage to achieve great things that inspire the rest of us. Most of us would have probably tried to straighten what God bent and replace what was lost, so as to appear normal. But now you know. Normality is the best most people aspire, but exceptionalism is demonstrated by anyone who allows God to use their crooked situation to bring Him glory.

Pray it
Thank you that we can trust what You're doing in us, and use it to bring You honor and glory.
