One-Minute Devotionals reveal in a single sentence, underlying truth about specific Scripture.

Again you say, "To swear an oath by the altar doesn’t mean a thing. But to swear an oath by the gift on the altar means a person must keep his oath."
Mt 23:18

Praying in Jesus' Name should mean you carry the Name. 3350

Live it..
I don't know the last time I heard someone pray without placing a period at the end of their sentence. I'm speaking of "in Jesus' Name, Amen," the phrase that's used like a period. To pray in any other connotation is wasted breath, but I wonder if we really consider what we're claiming when we use the phrase. After all, doesn't it imply that we have the right to pray that way?

Today the use of the phrase has become so methodical, I surmise that of the millions of people who will pray that way today many won't even be saved. That's not me making the claim but Jesus. In Matthew 7:20-23, He said we can tell a lot about someone by their fruit. In other words, just because we know Jesus' name doesn't mean we know Him. All those who call him "Lord," but don't know Him, will probably continue arguing their position rather than repent. Each and everyone, without realizing it will claim the distinction of being the first person in history to have been saved without being changed.

Pray it
Thank You that I'm only responsible for determining if I'm saved and not everyone else.
