Choosing the wrong side may not be apparent until the game is over. 3442

Learn it.
Two sides to everything. One makes trouble and the other seems to absorb it; Curious until you realize God is on one side and not the other.
Live it.
As kids, most of us have stood in a group while two captains picked the players they wanted on their side. I recall the sinking feeling that comes with not being picked first or second or third... It's called parody and what makes for a good game between two equally matched teams. The captains are the two best players and after deciding who goes first, pick the best remaining people as teammates. Then, when all but two people have been picked and you must decide who is the player you will send to the other side. A captain never sees much value in his last pick, but instead sees the opportunity to take advantage of the last pick on the other side. And there may be an extra person who is not picked at all. Usually the younger sibling of one of the players, they will sit on the sidelines, bounce a ball and dream of playing.
Somewhere in a pickup game, you will normally see the teams help their last person selected score, knowing that's the ultimate insult to the other team. It's like when one college basketball team with less than two minutes left in a game is far ahead of the other and puts in their "scrubs" (the name for players who don't get to play much). Scrubs practice as hard or maybe harder than the starting players but seldom if ever get to play in a real game. Life is like that sometimes. A few people make choices by which everyone else must live. The good thing however is that God chooses to be on the side of those who are last or those who have no value to anyone else. One thing about being on God's team; He has never lost to a team with "better" players.
Pray it
I don't understand it, God, but thank You for seeing value in me when no one else does.
