Today's Scripture: "Then there arose some from what is called the Synagogue of the Freedmen (Cyrenians, Alexandrians, and those from Cilicia and Asia), disputing with Stephen." Acts 6:9

See it.

Live it.

It's an old story how graduates are hired and put into service to be trained by someone who is not. They not only are paid more, but are promoted ahead of the grunts who make the money to pay their higher salaries. My experience as a young man did not motivate me to get more education. Instead, my experience provided more on the job knowledge than anyone in a higher position without it. I sought to become an expert in whatever I did and let others play the ladder "climbing" game.

The same story can be cited by many other people. But with the economy going south, as it is today, companies known for hiring professional students are slowing down. About all that is left for most graduates is to become a professional educator or stand in line for the next job with a dusty resume. Survivors, on the other hand, start new businesses using their contacts and on-the job training to provide needed services to people who can pay. Few of them have a debt burden and most have what they need to survive independent of the government. But most professional students carry a debt burden for what government loaned them and dependence on an shrinking employer help meet their head above water. That makes me wonder who was the smartest student after all.

Pray it.

I choose Your word, God, over the combined intelligence of the world.
