Today's Scripture: “Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring Me an offering. From everyone who gives it willingly with his heart you shall take My offering." Ex 25:2

See it.

Forced compliance

Live it.

You might not like the word "evolution" equated with church but if it fits, there's no reason to create a new word to avoid the association. But it can't be argued that looking back at the first century church, what we have today is not even close. Rather than list every variant thing, let me pick the worst offense as being identified with Laodicea, the seventh and final church of the Church "Age." It is considered worldly (Rev 3:20) and nothing says that like marching in lock-step with the government. This was the very thing that prompted the Protestant Reformers to "buck" the system.

The most gross sin is being a tracking agent of members' giving for the government and right behind that is being an IRS approved 501-C3 (Not for Profit) Corporation. Not only does that monitor what the church does with money but allows the government to monitor them and shut them down if what they do, don't do or say doesn't fit its perception of a church. For its compliance, members are then able to reduce their personal taxes if they participate in this worldly marriage of church and state. It seems to me that Jesus said to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's but he didn't say that church should be rendered to Caesar.

Pray it.

Forgive us, Your church, Jesus, for surrendering holiness for easy living.
