Today's Scripture: "I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father." Jn 8:38

5539. Character is as much rejection as reflection. JG

See it.

Be likes

Live it.

Years ago one professional basketball player set a standard on the court that caused guys to want to be like him. "Be Like Mike" was a saying in media advertising that expressed the desire to most young men who tried to emulate the moves of Michael Jordan. I had a pair of his red and black high-tops but I can tell you now that they didn't help me at all. Years later more came out about MJ's life on and off the court that revealed questionable character issues. He is no longer a model for young men want to emulate, but for those who tried, few modeled the way he played ball.

For all the athletes that are out there, character is hard to find. in fact, we have to put up with a lot of junk to watch sports. Recently, overpaid athletes are getting into racial and political posturing to the point we fans are tiring of it. Hollywood has done that forever as it seems actors who get paid for pretending to be something they're not. They are consistent if anything and have contrary opinions to what is moral and decent. It seems the long line of ungodly people has again lapped the short line of the righteous.

Pray it.

Thank You, Father, for the influence of godly people in my life.
