Today's Scripture: "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it." Jn 8:44

See it.

Sin sowing

Live it.

It's sad, but true. Too many parents lie to their children about their spouse so their children will think badly of the other parent and sympathize with them. This wickedness runs in families as the sin is planted in children, who have children and do the same thing to them and their children. Generations of children carry the bad seed that is far too easy to plant in the fertile minds of children. It's rare when a child can see through their parent's selfish motives, but some do get past it and stop the hemorrhaging to raise godly children. But most people abused this way carry scars and even if they try to not be like their parent, they wind up exactly like them.

Comparisons are dangerous, especially in parenting as we tend to become like that which we compare ourselves. The sad element in that is the fact Scripture tells us to base our lives on it and focus on Jesus. I can't imagine what good parents we'd be if we'd followed this simple plan. The good news is that God can change us and we can do it right. The bad news is that now your best example of ignoring God and facing the consequences is yourself—and the children whose minds you poisoned.

Pray it.

Thank God, there is still time to get it right by rejecting our plan and trusting Yours.
