Today's Scripture: "Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, just as we hope in You." Ps 33:22

5568. High hopes may seem good to some, but trusting God never fails. JG

See it.

Savor the favor

Live it.

In January of this year snow storms overtook the Northeast and in Washington, D.C. the downfall accumulated to 25 to 27 inches. I happened to catch a morning cable news broadcast where someone my age was interviewed as he leaned on his shovel, smiled with rosy cheeks and spoke with frosty breath. He had just cleared the snow from the front of his house and eight of his neighbors’ houses. Asked why he did it, the man responded “Someone needed to help these senior citizens.”

I related to that man's testimony as, at his retirement age, I was busier and working harder than ever in my life—much of it serving other people. As for me, God supplies the energy and strength to do everything I do. By His grace and mercy He grants me health when others around me are tired and sickly. What I didn't know was a few months later, my life style would change to what it is today. There's not much physical work in what I do now, but my desire to help others has only increased as has God's mercy and grace.

Pray it.

There is no greater privilege than to do what You would, Lord.
