Today's Scripture: "A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones." Pr. 17:22

5569. Life is not a choice, but a God-given privilege. JG

See it.

Who is that?

Live it.

It's a privilege to attend a 50th-year high school reunion if for no other reason than friends have died and can't attend. And then there are those who don't show up and everyone else asks, "Where are they?". And there must be particular pressure on those who made the big photograph section of the high school annual. After all, they were expected to be the happiest, most wealthy and prominent of the graduating class and look at them now. People like me went mostly unnoticed in school but are glad to have survived the ordeal. Suddenly we realize how blessed we may have been to not be in that highly visible and select group.

On a related note, have you noticed how 50-year reunion people mostly look old and tired? Think about it: we are now older than any of the teachers we thought looked like we do now. Amazingly, a few people maintain their appearance through the years, but after seeing everyone else we should be able to relax, look in a mirror and not feel so conspicuous. Last night, as the spouse of a graduate, I didn't know many people, but I enjoyed seeing my wife catch up with old friends. Life is good.

Pray it.

Thank You, God for every day given me to live, especially this one.
