Devotional - Friday, October 21, 2016 295/71

Today's Scripture: "I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth." Ps 34:1

5575. You'll never finish what you never start. JG

See it.

Counting continuum

Live it.

Having completed devotional thoughts on every verse in Genesis, Matthew and Ecclesiastes, I am now working on Exodus, John, Acts, Psalms and Proverbs. Unless I change my modus operandi of one verse per day of a different book in the Bible, it will take 38.12 years to finish my thoughts on Psalms alone. Obviously, it was a project started late in life that will never be completed. Why do it? I find value in the process and not the potential or the completion.

Nowhere is my purpose for these devotionals explained better than in this Psalm. David wrote about blessing God all the time in different ways. I do the same thing in my journal. You see, each of these devotionals make up another page in my physical journal and demonstrates the attention I am paying to what God is doing in and around me. When I see something devotional worthy (and most things are), I stop and take a photograph. Then before much time has passed, the revolving door of diverse Scripture connects itself to what I noticed. Then I create a Jimism, or a one-line summary of the verse, phrase it in prayer and list the related resources for anyone else who reads it. The results are then posted on Prayertower, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. If you wondered, now you know: all the time with all kinds of prayer (Eph 6:18).

Pray it.

My joy comes from knowing Yours, Jesus.
