Today's Scripture: "Wisdom is in the sight of him who has understanding, but the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth. Pr. 17:24

See it.

Seeing is doubting

Live it.

Trophies are reminders of having performed at a higher lever than someone else. But they can be deceiving as they bring satisfaction in past achievement and can prevent us from taking on new challenges. Trophies are also judged on available competition and not the best competition. Trophies should bring about feelings of humility but instead they have the tendency to make us think more of ourselves than we should. This is no more evident than when we hear of a super bowl ring or a Olympic medal showing up in a pawn shop, or a dusty box of trophies stored away.

As a boy, I heard of Moses, Joshua, David and Daniel and read in the Bible how they experienced God leading them, speaking to them, inspiring them and giving them information not privy to everyone. It was natural for me to pray Solomon's prayer for wisdom, but I would learn firsthand how God gave him more by granting him discernment. I don't know when it came or how long it will linger, but with the Bible it's application is indescribable. There are no trophies in seeing and hearing what most can't, but there is immeasurable joy that comes by using it to bless the One who gave it to me.

Pray it.

We see Your work, God, but hidden are attributes we can only see when You reveal them.
