Today's Scripture: "Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.” Jn 8:51

5586. Truth never applied may be a one-time opportunity. JG

See it.

Deal breaker

Live it.

Some people boast of their eternal security who fail to understand the terms of the agreement. They buy into the idea of a "free" salvation but never change. They have no evidence of God living in them or His having control of their lives. They have no love for God's word, no desire to pray or to be around God's people. They disregard sin and have no desire to be forgiven if it means they must repent. In short, it would be better if they'd never professed faith in Jesus Christ than having done so and joined a church to hear someone tell them, "Welcome to the Family of God."

These words may offend many people who've convinced themselves their profession forces God to accept them. But as a preacher and by the authority of God, I can proclaim the truth without apology, taking no prisoners. As an intercessor or counseler, however, I try be sensitive to how my words might be received. Lies are easily believed and feelings can be hidden under layers of denial. Truth, on the other hand, is hard to swallow, but it is the only thing that can freeus from our own chains.

Pray it.

God, teach me to use truth like a crowbar and not like a hammer.
