Today's Scripture: “You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold; two and a half cubits shall be its length and a cubit and a half its width." Ex 25:17

Plans and specs

Live it.

With every set of architectural drawings comes a standardized form instructing prospective vendors what materials are acceptable. In many ways these instructions are like laws that must be obeyed in order to get paid for services. Sometimes those rules are good, but more times than not, they're boilerplate and fail to be specific. It's then that a supplier of material can ask for clarification which would in turn produce an addendum effectively changing things.

The amazing thing about God's specifications is that His men make laws and change them everyday enforcing few of them. The end result is we have more additions and alterations than any one person can know, much less obey. We can expect those laws to evolve and we are expected to obey them—even when they contradict previous laws. I, for one, am thankful that God's word and His law hasn't changed. It's hard to imagine that human law started out with the same ones that God gave Moses.

Pray it.

Thank You, God that I do not need anyone but Your Spirit to teach me Your word.
