Today's Scripture: "Then the Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You have a demon! Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, ‘If anyone keeps My word he shall never taste death.’" Jn 8:52

See it.

Thought scrubber

Live it.

One of the hardest things for me to do is listen as someone lectures me on what someone else said. I hear speakers use quotes and a hundred variations of the Bible to make their point. Bible study is often using a book that references the Bible and sermons come from an outline that someone else wrote and one that's been used before. When it comes to testimony, they use one belonging to someone else. It's all seems contrived and weak when our words should be God's and what He has done and is doing in our lives.

I can't say when it happened, but I made a covenant with God years ago when I started praying. Concluding that the Holy Bible was the foundation and reliable source of relative information, I knew it should be my only source. I asked God to fill my mind with Scripture and the Holy Spirit to use my mouth to speak it. What someone else thinks and/or what someone else has written might be interesting, if it interferes with God's voice, it should have no place in my life. If my life is going to be motivated by anything, it will be God's word.

Pray it.

Help me stay focused on Your word, God, where my help comes from.
