Today's Scripture: "He who has knowledge spares his words, and a man of understanding is of a calm spirit." Pr. 17:27

A creative writer needs quiet time. Instrumental inspirational music can be satisfying but I find it hard to compose anything original with music and lyrics playing in the background. Simply speaking, inspiration requires silence.
Knowledge comes from many sources and obtained in diverse ways. It might be the notes of education (someone's else's knowledge) or a product of your own experience. Regardless, the first and most important aspect in learning is listening, an action akin to paying attention. But listening is impossible when you're talking unless you are asking a question. Hence, the more you want to learn, the quieter you are. Now you know why discerning people are usually the quietest people. Their questions are directed to God, their source of information is His word and their instruction comes from the Holy Spirit. Everything else is a distraction.
Thank You, God, for the treasure afforded those who seek You.
