Today's Scripture: “You shall also make a table of acacia wood; two cubits shall be its length, a cubit its width, and a cubit and a half its height." Ex 25:23

See it.

Life support

Live it.

It's hard to see what's wrong if you're standing on the problem. But it's impossible to see a problem if you are the problem. The product of a lifetime of traditional church life, I never doubted the importance of the Bible and prayer in my life, but was led to believe both were preferred Christian practices and not a growing desire to fellowship with Jesus. It was not blatant on the part of my pastors, teachers and leaders, but it is obvious now that I have no one to blame but myself. I had what I needed to be obedient and chose disobedience.

Every church has a pastor, but it is the teachers, leaders and supporting ministers who make it work. I am thankful for all those who served me in the past, but now serving in that supporting role myself, I feel the burden of responsibility. Therefore, I constantly emphasize the vital importance of making the Bible the dominant source of inspiration and information in a life. When I encourage other people, I can't help but wonder if I was like that when someone tried in vain to motivate me.

Pray it.

Thank You, Lord, for faithful people who serve You by serving others.
