Today's Scripture: "Jesus said to them, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.'” Jn 8:58

See it.

Live it.

Some view Christmas morning as the time to open wrapped gifts and be surprised. I view Thanksgiving Day 2016 in a similar way. Established many years ago, a systematic progression of sequential verses across the Old and New Testament started rolling to the present. I awoke to today's Scripture, an unplanned and sweet surprise. Jesus answers the question of generations of disbelievers and doubters who ask, "Do you really expect us to believe You are God, deity in human flesh?"

One of the worst things that can happen to someone these days is to lose your identity to a thief. Just this morning it was reported that a government database was hacked and the private information of military men and women was stolen. I would not be surprised to learn the same thing happened to many people while I was composing this devotional. On this Thanksgiving Day, I thank God that He doesn't know me via digital means but by the Holy Spirit tabernacled in me. Notice to all the hackers out there: if you want what I have in Jesus, you'll have to talk to Him and get your own.

Pray it.

Thank You, God, for identity in You that cannot be traded, surrendered or stolen.
