Today's Scripture: "Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive." Pr. 17:28

Having just come away from a contentious American national election, you'd like to think all the lies, deception and hate would be over, but that's not the case. It will eventually fade from conversation, but will probably never be forgotten—at least not by the target of the slurs.
Of all the many candidates in the Republican debates, many thought it would be a discussion of ideas, plans and promises, but it turned out to be an embarrassing slug fest or false accusation and personal attacks. The quiet (and wise) ones dropped out early while the loudest ones stuck it out and then acted liked they were chosen and not the last one standing. Riding a wave of unrest across the nation, we Americans then chose the lesser of evils and now we have to hear talk of peace and reconciliation from the most contentious people. If ever the verbiage on our coins, "In God We Trust" was needed, it is now.
Help us, God; only You can deliver us from the mess we've created.
