Today's Scripture: "And there shall be a knob under the first two branches of the same, a knob under the second two branches of the same, and a knob under the third two branches of the same, according to the six branches that extend from the lampstand." Ex 25:35
5655. A door without a knob and latch is a wall. JG
Having replaced a worn out door knob yesterday, I accidentally allowed the door latch to close before I could replace it. You guessed it, I couldn't open the door without a knob. Being a door man and working on locks all the time, this is an issue that's happened many times in my career. But if it happens when your tools and replacement knob are on the other side of the door, you have a problem (Got the tee-shirt). Fortunately, I had parts on my side and opened the door. But it's the same way with most everything I touch today. For everything that is closed, there needs to be a way to open it or it will remain closed.
I'm thankful for knobs this morning. You've probably have noticed the most famous one. It's a picture by William Holman Hunt showing Jesus about to knock on an closed door. We don't know if there is a knob on Jesus' side of the door, but the focus is on the one on the other side. You may not know what type of person is on the other side of the door, but the implication of the door knob is the same for whoever you think it might be.
Thank You, God, for providing me the inspired word with all the details I want to know.
