Today's Scripture: "The words of a talebearer are like tasty trifles, and they go down into the inmost body." Pr. 18:8

Calling all liars
Much is said about lying and deceiving in Scripture, but I wonder how much liars are really responsible for the consequences they initiate. After all, if no one listened to them and of those who did discounted what they heard, what they said wouldn't matter. But because the rumor mill is alive and well, the hearers cause great harm when they spread the manure. But what's worse are half-truths and insinuations without apology that destroys people's lives and testimonies.
We Christians like to say we want God to give us revival, but what we miss is the fact it starts with us, not God. It begins with a demand for unbiased truth to come from the pulpit and a conviction to not listen to anything said that is not your business, certainly not spread it. That is one reason why revival will not come to the Laodicean church (Rev. 3:20). We need to stop praying for revival and start praying for courage to be honest.
Give us, Your people, a desire to be holy.
