Today's Scripture: "He who is slothful in his work is a brother to him who is a great destroyer. Pr. 18:9

Missionary Jim Elliott wrote in his journal, "When the time comes to die, make sure that all you have to do is die!” I'm reminded of hearing Dr. Adrian Rogers say, "Dead noses smell no roses." I can't say with confidence that either man was the first to say those things, but their words are still true. In fact, I find it important to do what you can while you can.
Several years ago my life changed course as I decided to use my time to teach people to pray and make disciples. Because those things have been largely neglected by organized Christianity, it meant charting a course in line with biblical examples and not religion. That path found me alone and mostly using my time to pray and respond in writing to what I heard. I wanted my words to be more dictation of the Holy Spirit than the shaping my own words. One thing for sure, it's hard to hear from God when other voices are allowed to fill your head. Of course, who has our attention is a matter of personal choice.
I depend on You alone, Lord, to be my Counselor, Corrector, and Confirmer.
