Today's Scripture: "It shall be made of a talent of pure gold, with all these utensils." Ex 25:39

5669. Impressions serve a purpose until replaced with reality. JG

See it.

To the bone

Live it.

It doesn't seem that long ago when I lived in a frat house. Our house mother was not our maid or cook but we men were responsible for upkeep of the house. Having a house mother gave the impression that our house of men was respectful and in order. The first part was true but we were only as neat as our pledges kept it. When the pledges became members, things went down hill until there was a special event requiring a work day where we organized and cleaned up.

In many ways, church is like that. We paint a certain picture of the way things are, but we're a little disingenuous. We talk about being a family, but most church members comprise an audience that watches a few people work providing monetary compensate for their service. Our challenge is not to expect more of those who sit and soak, but to plant desire in them to work without having to be challenged.

Pray it.

The only power I want, God, is to advance Your kingdom and stand alone if need be.
