Today's Scripture: "And they were carried back to Shechem and laid in the tomb that Abraham bought for a sum of money from the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem." Acts 7:16
5689. Neglect means we will pay attention when we've lost the choice. JG
It might not be the first topic of discussion at the dinner table, but death is a certainty that demands attention. Some people think of the finality of the subject when attending a funeral, but others only when inconvenienced by the procession to the cemetery. It might be a passing thought when a friend has died, but no doubt the day is coming when the subject of death is unavoidable, no matter how hard we try.
I'm sure my mom told me of the cemetery plots made available for me beside her and dad, but I can say with confidence it never got my attention. Of course when she died and I went through her documents with my brother, I not only thought about it but asked a lot of questions. Better late than never I suppose.
Thank You, Lord, for making it so tasting death or not, it's rendered toothless.
