Live it.

Two weeks ago I awakened to extreme pain in my left thumb that made it hard to use. With a doctor's appointment scheduled the next week, I wore a brace and smelled of mentholatum rub until I could get a professionals opinion. Hearing my condition and no apparent trauma, the doctor speculated it might be tendinitis. So he told me to take two Aleve twice a day for two weeks and see what happens. "If my hand improves, will it prove your diagnosis," I asked. He said it might, so I did exactly as he said and today the pain in my hand is almost gone. I've not finished my two weeks and still wonder about my condition.

Diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome, my wife and I were diligent to follow the doctor's treatment for our second child. Every day for 365 days, we'd give our baby one dropper of Digitalis, a green liquid used to treat congestive heart failure and heart rhythm problems. We were told our daughter was the youngest to ever be diagnosed with WPW. Our baby was not worried about her condition, but my wife and I did enough for all of us. Our test of faith was on day 366 of the treatment when we stopped giving the medicine. We had plenty of concerns, but I can testify forty-six years later that while medicine can be good, God's grace is always better.

Pray it.

Forgive me, God, for worrying about things that were never my responsibility.
