Devotional - Sunday, March 26, 2017 85/280

Today's Scripture: "Now when he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren, the children of Israel." Acts 7:23

5731. Death, not age, marks the finish line. JG

See it.

Live it.

I've chosen for a long time to stand up when a woman came to my table and help her with her chair unless another man did it. It goes without saying that I will hold a door for anyone but especially for a woman and child. Not that everyone who passes through my door is worthy of respect or even expresses gratitude. It's just what I've done most of my life.

The church I attend is blessed with a full choir loft and enough bodies to fill it up. But our choir room is like a large closet and assigning matching seats can be difficult. I don't know how, but it gets done every Sunday, like today. That being said, I was late getting to practice this morning and all the seats were taken. The director asked me to stand at the end of the front row and a young man sitting on the front row stood up and asked me to take his seat. He didn't mean anything by it but was showing respect for his elders. I on the other hand wanted to arm-wrestle him and prove I am not ready to be coddled. Yes, I am older than his father but so what?

Pray it.

Family is so good, God, heaven must be incredible.
