Today's Scripture: "They answered and said to him, “You were completely born in sins, and are you teaching us?” And they cast him out." Jn 9:34

See it.

The last word

Live it.

Reaching the Final Four is a goal that every college basketball program aspires. But there was one story line that played out behind the scenes here in Memphis, TN. The coach of Kentucky returned to the city but not to loud resounding praise but a general disdain. I saw an old friend at dinner Sunday night and asked what he thought of our old coach coming to town for the NCAA tournament. It wasn't just him but most everyone around the table wished failure on the coach and his team. Few recount his charity in this city but remember and dwell on his failures.

It wasn't that Calipari was a bad coach, but it appears he regularly breaks rules to draw the best talent to play for him and gets a pass (pardon the pun). The irony of the story is that he is now at a storied basketball school with momentum to draw more good players in than he has positions. It appears that sin once again prospers and the innocent are left to pay the price. Some things never change.

Pray it.

Thank You, God, for living among the poor and praise worthy rather than among the ungodly rich.
