Today's Scripture: "And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended and avenged him who was oppressed, and struck down the Egyptian." Acts 7:24

Supposedly America is a nation of law and order, but everyday we're learning it's not. Influential people are not held to the same standard as common folk and it appears different laws apply to position and political affiliation. If the right people want you condemned, they can make it happen. Lady Liberty says, "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free" but Lady Justice says something else. She reveals a blindfold, balance and sword, but has dropped the blindfold and balance and is ready to slice and dice anyone who calls themselves a Christian or is politically incorrect.
I'm reminded of the top roots we are systematically removing from our lawn. For years trees and shrubs were allowed to grow around our house without restriction. Now with soil erosion, large running roots are exposed above the ground revealing they may be causing problems under our house. We cut down the problematic trees and are now digging under surface roots and using an ax to remove them. Of course, now we have a yard full of holes that need fresh topsoil and grass. But we take heart that removing the underlying problem we can live with superficial issues. Give it time and only the one who worked to remove the problem will have any memory of it.
Thank You, Lord, for helping me with problems I caused and You warned me about.
