Today's Scripture: "And Jesus said to him, 'You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you.'” Jn 9:37

See it.

The Revelator

Live it.

Having sung Southern Gospel in several groups, you might think that style would be my favorite, but you'd be wrong. What I love is choral music and instrumental hymns void of any soloists. So you can imagine the surprise of my new quartet buddies when, as lead singer, I was asked to audition by singing Beulah Land without a musical score. Believe it or not, I asked the pianist to play the melody for me. I thankfully passed their test and moved forward to learn other favs like Farther Along. What I really learned was that singing most Southern Gospel songs requires leaving your proper theology at the door. It's also who you know that gets you through those doors.

My brother London Parris is now in glory but I will never forget spending time with him riding to an out of town concert. Our time talking about salvation and heaven still impacts me. Then after our brief time together, I lost track of him until reading his obit after his funeral. I regret not contacting him before his death, but that's what happens when you wait on someone else to care more about a relationship than you do.

Pray it.

Remind me, God, that I should promptly act when You impress me.
