Today's Scripture: "He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord." Pr. 18:22

See it.

Live it.

Looking back, it's hard to imagine an alternate course for my life. I've seen the best and worst in things and people. But now married for thirty-seven years to one life-partner I can say I would have it no other way. That's not to say we've had no trouble, but our problems drew us together and didn't tear us apart. That includes living at, or slightly above, poverty level for the greatest part of our lives. With multiple business failures and disappointing family and friend relations, not only did we survive, but we've seen success and are enjoying life.

The beautiful part of marriage between two dedicated believers is each can be happy alone but content to be married and defer to the other. Still, things change and when faith waivers, commitment can too. Nasty divorces happen everyday as the grass always seems greener than it really is. The good news is that one partner's decision to change can't force the other to change or stop loving the family (cf. Hosea). It can however, make a way for someone else to step in and be a better parent/partner for their partner.

Pray it.

Thank You, God, for blessings that come out of distress.
