Today's Scripture: "The middle bar shall pass through the midst of the boards from end to end." Ex 26:28

Inclined to combine

Live it.

If you think about it, the universe is defined by extremes: hot and cold, long and short, hard and soft. But in every case, those extremes are joined in the middle by comfortable, exact and pliable. Recently in discussion of spiritual gifts, I explained the dynamics by drawing a four-part box representing different spiritual tendencies. Every child of God is positioned somewhere in that big box with others sharing the same tendency. But for every tendency "group," there are others with the opposite tendency. In fact, I explained, most marriages are defined by two people of opposite sex and opposite tendencies. It appears that God expects extremes to meet in the middle to serve the purpose of the whole. That's the good news. Here's the bad:

Things don't always work out the way they should. Anytime one extreme overly exerts itself and the opposing extreme fails to exert itself, the pendulum swings and things get out of balance. Case in point is the state of the United States after eight years of unabated extreme left-wing liberalism. Enter the 2016 national elections and the opposite extreme has power. It's interesting that it may take eight years of this opposite tendency to return the national pendulum to center.

Pray it.

Thank You, God, for the reminder that You gave me power to do things You expect me to do.
