Today's Scripture: "To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out." Jn 10:3

See it.

To each his own

Live it.

Recently the Internet world watched April, a mother giraffe in a zoo, give birth to Tajiri. Standing within an hour, the calf was eating vegetation and within a week prancing around. While there is nothing particularly attractive about the mother, it was hard to stop looking at her calf. I felt the same sensation with the young lamb that played a part in our recent Passion play. I just wanted to touch and pet it.

I am not certain the lamb in our play had a name, but it was normal for a shepherd to name all the members of his flock. I know this: our lamb was most always quiet in the arms of an adoring person. But when left in a cage, its bleeting was heard everywhere. I likened that cry to a baby looking to be held, but it could have been pleading to go home too. As a follower of Jesus, might I say that I feel the same way.

Pray it.

There is nothing in this world worth comparing with what You promise us, Jesus.
