Today's Scripture: "Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” Jn 10:5

5785. The wisest thing I can do today is to ignore most of what I hear. JG

See it.

Live it.

The television ad for Comfort Fit(R) promises their clothing does what their name says. I cannot verify that but advertisements don't lie do they? My guess is no more than politicians or someone promising by using their diet plan you can lose massive amounts of weight in a short period of time. Everyone looks for someone they can trust and voices constantly beg to be trusted. What is a person to do? Quite simply, sometimes we just have to block out the noise and use selective listening.

Some time ago I began muting the television news anytime someone tries to influence me. But there are so many people like that out there, I spend more time managing the TV remote than thinking about my work. In addition, I'm certain I miss good information by trying to block out the bad. So, I've begun playing light jazz in the background. Unfortunately the station to which I listen sees the need to periodically interrupt the music to talk about sports and political issues. Give me a break—really.

Pray it.

Forgive us, Your people, God, for making more time for nonsense than Your word.
