Snot my time (sorry)
With the privilege of teaching my Sunday School class this morning, I plan to begin with an apology. Feeling old at a class picnic yesterday, I told my teacher that I might have to leave his class and move on up the one on top of the class listing. That's where there are no promotions except to heaven, a.k.a., the Senior Adult Sunday school class. The reason I must apologize is many in our class, including him, are older than me. How pathetic was my comment?
Sometimes I'm made to feel old, insignificant, irrelevant and disgusting by others. But most of the time I don't need their "help" feeling that way. Approaching the Golden Pond Years marked by walkers, wheelchairs, portable oxygen tanks and discussions of social security and Medicare. Moses died at 120 years of age with good vision and dexterity (Dt. 34:7). God's servant didn't die from old age, but when his work on earth was done, God took him. That sounds pretty good to me.
Help me use every day to the fullest, Lord, so looking back, nothing is wasted.
