Today's Scripture: "I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture." Jn 10:9

Home may be where the heart is, but many call cardboard cover under a bridge home. I'm fairly certain while they find relief there, it's not where they wind up. Everyone else lives close to work and finds comfort in a structure suiting their wallet. Some even have multiple homes in multiple places to fit their impulsive lifestyle. But one thing we all have in common is our first home was our mother's womb and our last one probably a wooden box. The good news is a heart fixed on Jesus only cares to make its home where He is.
Today I express my thankfulness for an office in the garage for seven years. My air conditioning has been a fan in the heat and a small propane heater in the cold. But the privacy and quiet has made up for any discomfort. Most everything out here is second hand, the furniture makeshift, things stored where I can't find them without moving other things. But years of devotions have been written here, my sermons planned, my books conceived and written and a lot of private time spent with the Lord. The picture (above) is of my two new $55 Goodwill desks looking out over my backyard and my bird feeders. I am grateful for my host making room for me in the A/C and heat, but I'm not getting rid of my garage office. What it offers me that this plush room doesn't is a door and sometimes you just need one.
I can't wait to see the place you're making for me, Jesus.
