Today's Scripture: "All the brothers of the poor hate him; How much more do his friends go far from him! He may pursue them with words, yet they abandon him." Pr. 19:7

Finally recovering from weeks of heavy congestion, digestive issues made me more uncomfortable. So with the air conditioning out downstairs, my family braved heavy rain last night to go out for dinner. That was exciting enough, but when we returned home we found that straight line winds had played havoc in our yard. Most significant was my new covered patio swing that blew over and took out a free-standing bird feed stand. It was probably best we weren't at home because we would have probably wished we were somewhere else.
What physically happened yesterday is a reflection of my emotions everyday. What God has shown me is the world finally set to destroy itself and taking the established church down with it. The greatest frustration to me is that we God's people are blinded by our own arrogance and either can't or won't see it. Essentially the house of cards we like to say is man's only hope has been turned over and we don't even know it. Instead of righting the ship via confession, repentance and sacrifice, we have redecorated the collapsed structure and are open for business on Sunday. Not to worry though, new people will join us so we can continue to meet the payroll and make everyone feel good about the future like they did in the days of Noah.
I believe, Jesus, there are some who see You through the shiny distractions.
