Today's Scripture: “This is he who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the Angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, the one who received the living oracles to give to us." Acts 7:38

See it.

Identity crisis

Live it.

One of the hardest things for me to do is to remember the names of people from the past and where we met. Having served in many churches and a member of several others, I've met many people who don't know each other. Just this week as I got out of my vehicle to go into a store and saw someone getting out of theirs. He didn't see me, so I had time to ponder his first name and where we knew each other. His first name came to me before I reached the door, but I had difficulty with his last name.

If I could summarize my life these days on retirement, it would be that I work harder than ever before. For years God has sustained me to do the work of an intercessor (Psalm 31) and kept my mind intact. In fact, one of my students told me last week that I was the smartest man he'd ever met. I thanked him but quickly gave him the secret of my wisdom. The more I rely on God, the more He shows me and the harder I work to teach His word, the more opportunity He gives.

Pray it.

Over and over, God, You have proven Yourself true to Your word.
